The VForce reed valve system by Moto Tassinari has been the reed valve system of choice by anyone serious about two-stroke engine performance for the last 10+ years. The simple premise of the VForce3 reed valve system is to increase engine power and throttle response by increasing the efficiency over a conventional reed valve design. The unique design of the VForce reed valve system features double the reed tip surface over a conventional reed valve design. This has two major benefits: 1) The reed petals only travel half the distance as a conventional reed valve design to get the same airflow. 2) Because the reed petals only need to travel half the distance of that on a conventional reed valve design, there is a greater chance of them being fully opened as well as a better chance of sealing when they are "closed". A reed petal never truly "closes" in a classic sense, as it is always in movement. Consider this, an engine operating at 8,000 RPM results in a reed petal opening and closing 133 times in one second. This fact, sheds light on another VForce advantage. Since the petals are only traveling half the distance, they generally last longer are they receive less wear than the reed petals on a conventional reed valve design.
One of the best things consumers can do for the money is replace the stock reed cage with a set of Moto Tassinari VForce reed valves. —American Snowmobiler Magazine
While two-strokes may have lost their place in the pro ranks of AMA supercross and motocross racing, they are still alive and well, and even prospering in some disciplines such as off-road racing. Currently the two-stroke motorcycle appears to be making a bit of a resurgence in popularity in the UK and other parts of Europe. Because of both the superior performance and durability of the VForce reed valve system you will find the VForce as an OEM item in select KTM, Husqvarna, TM, BETA, Gas Gas, and Cobra motorcycles. These manufactures realize both the performance and durability benefits of the VForce3 and chose to spec their motorcycles with the finest reed valve system available.
I have been doing this for a long time—for an aftermarket company to make a product that outperforms what the factory’s make is pretty rare these days. VForce is one of those rare exceptions. —Roger DeCoster
The VForce3 reed valve system has always enjoyed a strong following in the snowmobile market, which really isn't too surprising as the first VForce reed valves ever manufactured were exclusively for snowmobiles. We soon branched out into motorcycles, quads, personal watercraft, micro sprints and more. We continued to dominate the snpwmobile aftermarket market with the VForce reed valve system racking up championships in oval, ice drags, grass drags, pavement drags, hillcross, hilclimbs, snocross and more. The VForce reed valve system can now be found OEM in the race sleds of Arctic Cat, Polaris and Ski-Doo.
The VForce3 Reed Valve System is the perfect combination of performance and durability, making it a natural choice for the sleds Team Arctic races. —Russ Ebert, Race Manager for Team Arctic Cat
Though there is currently a lot of fuss being made over four-stroke technology, Moto Tassinari continues to refine and add technology to our VForce product line. We have just completely redesigned our VForce reed valve system for the KTM 250/300 motorcycle line. This is the exact same reed valve that will be used as OEM by KTM for the 2012 model year. It is available for consumer purchase now.
Though the VForce reed valve system has been out for over ten years it's still "new" technology to some, as well as constantly undergoing refinements in design. We'll do our best to answer some of the most common questions below.
